Rogue Valley SHRM Chapter Presents:   

“The Magic of Conflict”

Do you want to successfully resolve professional disputes with confidence? Have you ever wished for a way to experience conflict without the usual fear and trepidation? With business conflicts on the rise, conflict resolution skills can become an essential part of your skill set.

In this workshop, you gain the ability and confidence to resolve almost any dispute. Through lecture, discussion, examples from your life and work experience, and experiential classroom activities, you learn the skills and strategies to experience conflict resolution in its optimal form: from the point of view of acceptance and an open attitude of discovery and opportunity. With this perspective, the process of peaceful conflict resolution can become a gateway to greater understanding of others and yourself.

Topics include:  quality leadership and communication, inner and outer conflict, personal responsibility, ways we try to avoid conflict, our history with conflict, harmonizing with others, the crucial element in resolving conflict, participating with change, creating a safe container, and rituals of reconciliation.

As a corporate educator, speaker and leadership coach, Robert has worked with organizations throughout North America, Asia, Micronesia and Europe. He has conducted his leadership, communication, and team building programs with executives, middle management, and support personnel from Fortune 500 companies such as Alcatel Lucent Enterprise, Edison International, the Symantec Corporation, Wells Fargo and General Motors as well as with smaller companies in the health care, technology, insurance, entertainment, and manufacturing fields. In addition, he has worked with federal and state agencies, the military, law enforcement, and local government entities.  He has also served on the business faculties of UCLA, UC Berkeley, UC Irvine, UC Santa Cruz, San Diego State University and Loyola Marymount University Extension Programs.

Robert earned a Bachelor’s Degree with Honors in Political Science from the University of California at Berkeley, and a Master of Fine Arts from Sarah Lawrence College. He also holds a Black Belt (Second Degree) in Aikido.
