It could also be said that Strategic Thinking is thinking about thinking. Many of us spend some part of our day in thought. But how much of it is truly beneficial? Personality typing systems, from Myers Briggs Type Indicator to the DISC and Gallup’s Strengths-Finder are very common in organizational life. The common thinking is that knowing oneself and understanding our differences can promote better working relationships, which improves organizational outcomes. While this sort of typing is definitely a benefit, putting ourselves in boxes also has a downside.
