Certification Study Group Scholarship Awards
Program Overview:
To support our membership and advance the Human Resource profession, the Rogue Valley SHRM Chapter is committed to promoting SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP certifications and participation in the Portland Human Resource Management Association (PHRMA) study group program. The scholarship is meant to help current members who are in financial need and whose employment organizations do not support funds for professional development.
The amount of scholarship awarded will cover the cost to attend the PHRMA study group and is shown as a line item in the budget, which may vary significantly from year to year depending upon available funding, other chapter priorities, and qualified applicants. Up to three scholarships may be given per year. If there are no qualified applicants, the funds may be carried over to the following year. A scholarship recipient is eligible to receive only one scholarship.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
- Be a current Rogue Valley SHRM member; and
- Have attended a minimum of four (4) Rogue Valley Chapter programs or volunteer for SHRM events within the last 12-months and/or serve on a SHRM board.
How to Apply:
Complete the scholarship application which includes attaching a current resume. The application deadline is three weeks before the PHRMA online course registration deadline.
- For the Fall 2024 course, the application deadline is Friday, August 2, 2024.
- More information comming soon on the Spring 2025 course.
Funding of the Scholarship:
You will be notified via email of the board’s decision prior to the end of the application deadline. Once awarded, the scholarship will be paid in full pending proof of enrollment in the study group.
